HOBBY HORSE RALLY

COMBINED TEST (1 DRESSAGE ROUND, 2 JUMP ROUNDS)

 

When: January 10, 2026

Start time: 10:00 AM

End time: 2:00 PM

Cost: $37 per person (includes 1 dressage test and 2 jumping rounds)

Refunds: Refunds will be issued minus a $10 admin fee up until Jan 2,2026. Refunds will not be issued after the closing date (Jan. 2,2026).

WHAT IS IT: Hobby horsing, the art of riding stick horses, has evolved from a childhood pastime into a competitive sport. What better place to start Hobby Horsing than Pony Club!

RULES: This NW Hobby Horse Rally is open to both USPC Members and non-members. This is a USPC NW Region sanctioned event, and all participants and spectators will be required to sign a waiver and a code of conduct.

Age and Jumping divisions:

Grasshopper 1(ages 6 years & under): 6" verticals and Cross rails

Grasshopper 2 (ages 7-11years): 12 “verticals

Grasshopper 3 (ages 7-11 years): 24”-36” verticals

Junior 1 (ages 12-17 years): 12”-18” verticals

Junior 2 (ages 12-17 years): 18”-24” verticals

Junior 3 (ages 12-17 years): 24”-36” verticals

Junior 4 (ages 12-17 years): 30”-42” verticals

Senior 1 (ages 18 & up): 24”- 36” verticals

Senior 2 (ages 18 & up): 30”-42” verticals

Geriatric: (age ?): 12”- 18” verticals

Dressage Classes: (a smaller arena will be used to accommodate the space we have) Recommended for beginners: DC 1-3. Recommended for more experienced: DC 4-6. Advanced DC 7-9

**Dressage test should be ridden in less than 4 minutes**

DC 1: USDF Intro A DC 4: USEF Training Test 3 DC 7: USEF Third Level Test 3

DC 2: USDF Intro B DC 5: USEF First Level Test 3 DC 8: USEF 4th Level Test 3

DC 3: USDF Intro C DC 6: USEF Second Level Test 3

Readers will be available for all classes, but we encourage you do memorize your test

Horse Management Classes: (Judged as a team) Resource :

HORSE_MANAGEMENT_RULEBOOK

Tack Room equipment identification and set up (timed) (we may have to modify for the sake of time)

Written test (individually judged age/certification appropriate)(we may have to modify for the sake of time)

Attire: Must be modest, such as polo-shirt and jogging/exercise pants (no tank tops, crop tops, shorts, etc.) Club polo shirts are encouraged. Tennis shoes are encouraged for jumping rounds. Solid shoes required (no sandals, crocs or socks).

Venue: Please be respectful to the property and stay in designated areas. You may want to bring a sack lunch. Please throw all garbage away or take it with you.

Awards: Individual Ribbons to 6th place per division. Horse Management Team Ribbons to 4th place. Written test ribbons to 6th place per division.
